Full name Vladimir Guerrero Ramos Jr. He is a Canadian baseball player of Dominican origin, son of famous Dominican ballplayer Vladimir Alvino Guerrero Sr. Has been a key professional player for the Toronto Blue Jays since 2019. First and third base player and designated hitter. He is the owner of numerous awards. 

Childhood and Adolescence

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was born in 1999 in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) to a Dominican family of professional sportsmen. His father, uncle and cousin are professional baseball players.

His parents divorced when he was very young. So the young boy spent part of his childhood in Santiago, Dominican Republic, with his mother. Since Vladimir Guerrero Jr mother moved back to her home country after her divorce.

In 2003, his father Vladimir Alvino Guerrero Sr played his last game for the Canadian team Montreal Expos. He invited his son to this cult match. At the end of the match, father and son took a photo together on the field. Thus began little Vladimir’s exposure to baseball.

Minor leagues

2015-2016

In 2015, when he was 16, Guerrero signed a contract with Toronto. The Vladimir Guerrero Jr contract was for about $4 million. According to the contract, the player was to start his season in 2016. To do so, he was sent to a special training camp.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr started his first season with the Bluefield Blue Jays of Canada. He started playing in the third position. In his first match, he impressed everyone with his play. He immediately started hitting home runs and making successful solo shots.

2017

2022
